OK Girls I need your help! I am trying to plan what goodies will be made and I want to make fudge this year for Christmas. I have my usual expected cookies and candy I make but I have a hankering for fudge. I haven't attempted it for many years because as I remember it the last time I did it didn't turn out so well. And I said "I will never make fudge again!" Well you know how the saying goes-"Never say never!" So here I am with some recipes but I don't want to have to try them out to see which one will be the best. So I am asking for you to send me your tried and true best and easy fudge recipes please. And any tips you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I am a fantastic cook and baker but fudge for some reason just didn't work out for me the year I tried to make it anyway. It didn't set up right mostly. And it was many years ago -I am much older and, ehhhemmm wiser now, so maybe it will work out this time. [You can send them to my email tamgirl0@msn.com and put fudge recipe in the subject box so I know what it is for in case your email ends up in my junk box.] I am sure it will be a great fudgy success with my blogger buddy's help! Thanks Girls!

I am not a fudge eater. But I do think my mom makes the absolute best fudge ever. It's creamy and not hard and sugary. So if that's what you like it may not be the recipe you are looking for. I'll try to get it from her and mail it if you're interested. My best friend in high school could eat the whole pan, no joke. The baggie my mom sent the fudge in to her would melt in the locker and Erica would lick the baggie clean. It was embarrassing. ha.
ReplyDeleteI'm of no value when it comes to this stuff. But I hope you find the perfect recipe!!!
ReplyDeleteMy Mom has always made the fudge from behind the Kraft Jet-Puff marshmellow creme jar..."FAntasy Fudge"...and it always gets RAVE reviews. This is my first time here and enjoyed my visit! Your grand-babies dresser is adorable...love the cottage look! Cherry
ReplyDeleteOHHH shooot...forgot to say it is suppose to be VERy easy to make as well. I am a Oregon girl too! cherry
ReplyDeleteOnce you get the recipe please share. I love fudge and like you I have trouble making it myself.
ReplyDeleteOf course I went to mom's tonight and forgot all about the recipe. I called her and told her I needed it so she won't let me forget. I'll try to get it to you within a day or two.
ReplyDeleteI just love fudge, too, but have never made any. I just eat everyone elses. If you need a taster, I volunteer!

Hi, thanks for stopping by and leaving such a great comment. I LOVE Led Zepp too, very much. My grandma used to make fudge every few months or so. I will try to find her recipe and if I can I will send it along. You have inspired me to try and make some myself this Christmas!

I always use the recipe on the back of Marshmallow Fluff....
ReplyDeleteSorry - can't help you on your search but I will wish you good luck!! I love it and wish I could make it, but I'm just not very good in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteHave a good one ~

Hi! I've lurked at your blog a couple of times & came out of lurk mode because I thought I could help. ;o) This recipe of Alton's has good instructions.http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/chocolate-fudge-recipe/index.html
ReplyDeleteThe important thing to remember is to cook it to 234 degrees, add butter but don't mix it in & let it cool until 130 degrees. I use lots of recipes, depending on what ingredients "float my boat" but I always modify the directions to the above. It prevents a grainy fudge & assures a good set. Nice to "meet" you!
I hope you share the recipe that you decide on. I tasted a mint fudge at Blackberry Junction Bazaar that was soooo good.Let us know how many recipes you get.lol. Laurie
ReplyDeleteHi Tam! I usually use the recipe from the back of the jar of Kraft (I think) marshmallow creme. It's pretty good. I also posted a creamsicle recipe on my Halloween party post, but don't know how that would be for Christmas. I hope it works out for you! LOL!
ReplyDeletemy mother-in-law makes the best fudge ever! We lovingly call it heroin. :) No matter how sick we get, we just keep eating and eating.
ReplyDeleteBut I have no recipe
I LOVE to eat fudge but I'm still in my stage where I "will not ever make fudge again". I use to have wonderful luck with the standard chocolate chip and marshmallow creme recipe...but the past few years it just hasn't turned out. I'm more of a baker myself and LOVE to bake cookies for Christmas. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHope you got my email, Tam! I ALWAYS love visiting with you.

Lea
Hi Tam - I'm so glad that you enjoyed my glitter ornament/gift tag post! I haven't made fudge in ages, but this is the easiest recipe - my mom and I used to make it all the time (back when I was younger and didn't gain weight by just looking at sweets!) Here's a link to the site - it's SO good and SO simple! http://www.eaglebrand.com/videos.asp?v=fudge#video - Enjoy!!!!... Donna
ReplyDeleteSo how are those gorgeous green shelves coming along????
ReplyDeleteHi Tam! Thanks for visiting my blog and Pink Saturday. You look like you are a definite pink girl, too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the fudge. I like the old-fashioned fudge that you cook. Be sure to let us know what you come up with.
Hi, Tam!!! You won my magazine giveaway!! No Fudge Recipes in it, but I think you will enjoy it anyway...feel free to pass it on again when you are finished reading! Anyway...I will email you with the details.
ReplyDeleteAs for the fudge, I always make the "never fail fudge" on the back of the *Fluff* containers. It's yummy, too! :o)
I give you so much credit for making your own fudge! I usually just buy some when we're visiting the Jersey Shore. Can't wait to see how the recipes turn out. Maybe I'll even brave baking some and try one of them out :) Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty close to fudge homemade and wonderful.
ReplyDeletePecan Chocolate Clusters
7-ounce jar marshmallow cream
3/4 pound chocolate kisses (recommended: Hershey's)
2 1/2 cups sugar
6-ounce can evaporated milk
1/2 stick butter
2 cups pecan halves
Place marshmallow cream and kisses into a large bowl. Set aside. Combine sugar, milk, and butter in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook for 8 minutes. Pour over marshmallow and chocolate, stirring until well blended. Stir in pecans. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
I also make the fudge on the back of the Marshmallow cream jar. It's the easiest and it tastes really good. Now I'm craving fudge!
ReplyDeleteWell, some fudge recipes are pretty tricky. Check my site for a few tried and true recipes. www.RecipeGirl.com
